| There are several simple steps that can also be taken
to help ensure a good and restful nights sleep. |

Take plenty of exercise during the
day. This will increase your depth of sleep. |

Avoid sleeping during the day or early evening
if at all possible because this will affect your
night time sleep pattern. |

Avoid tea, coffee, caffeine containing fizzy
drinks, chocolate, excess alcohol and large meals
during the evening. A hot, milky drink before
bedtime may help. |

Establish a night time routine. Do not read
or watch the television in bed, as these are stimulating
activities. Avoid lying in bed tossing and turning.
It may be better to get up for 15 minutes and
then try again. |

Do not oversleep in the mornings. |

Try relaxation techniques, for example, a massage
or a hot bath at the end of the day. |
